Craniosacral Therapy in San Diego
A: According to the Biodynamique Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America, people with the following symptoms will benefit from CST:- impingement of cranial nerves or spinal nerves,
- left-right imbalances,
- head injuries, confusion,
- feelings of compression or pressure,
- circulatory disorders,
- organ dysfunctions,
- learning difficulties,
- neuro-endocrine problems,
- TMJ and dental problems,
- and trauma of all kinds — birth, falls, accidents and other injuries,
- physical, sexual or emotional abuse, PTSD, loss/grief, surgery, anesthesia, among others.
BCST is also excellent as a preventive therapy because it can facilitate the resolution of imbalances within a patient/client's system that she/he may not be consciously aware of.
Q: What to expect during a Craniosacral session?
Holistic Bodywork Therapy
Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: I usually recommend 3 sessions at relatively close intervals. By that point both the client and myself will know if this work will benefit the client going forward.
In my personal practice and based on my personal experience the three areas where I had the most success using Craniosacral Therapy are:
- Past head injury/head trauma and
- Mood disorders
Q: How long will the session last?
A: The time of the session will vary at any given visit based on the client need. You will be charged according to the time spent on the situation. It usually varies from 1 hour to 1hour and a half.
Q: Who will benefit?
A: The session will usually begin with a discussion of my client current health issues and his/her goals for the treatment. I normally start the session by doing some soft tissue work: it helps the client to relax and gives me a better idea of where the muscular restrictions and/or the tension pattern are. It also gives me a feeling of where the energetic body stands.
Then I will start the craniosacral work and depending upon the client complains, his/her specific pain and discomfort and what their body is communicating I will orient the session accordingly.
